After being carted off the field Monday morning with a lower leg injury, rookie running back Mikel Leshoure will miss the entire 2011 season due to a torn Achilles, head coach Jim Schwartz told the media. Leshoure—a second-round pick out of Illinois—was expected to play an integral role in Detroit’s running game this season along with dual-threat back Jahvid Best. With Leshore out, veteran Maurice Morris will step into the No. 2 role unless the Lions plan on signing any of the free agent running backs who are still available on the open market.

Poor Lions. Who wants to go in on how many days before Stafford or Pettigrew go down?

Both second rounders and our first rounder hurt. Good Grief, our left tackles are gone and our right tackle too. I agree...Stafford and Pettigrue are next!

Also, with an injury like a torn Achilles. It takes a long time to get back to where you were. It's not like you get surgery rehab a little then boom your 100 percent back to old form again. This could take a few years to heal and get back to where he was, hell he may never be the same back he used to be. I know when I blew my knee out and damaged my meniscus and my ACL it really messed me up, and to this day it still holds me back.

Well, I sure hope Morrice Morris and Aaron Brown can become a #2 and that Best can stay healthy. Good Grief.

It's all because of the lockout.

    Fixed.

Some of these are just fluke injuries, of course.

The lockout didn't force some of these players to not be properly conditioned at this stage of the game.
