Detroit Lions coach Jim Schwartz said he doesn't believe running back Reggie Bush has a serious knee injury, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.

Bush, who was scheduled to undergo an MRI after injuring his knee Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, could be available to play in Week 3 against the Washington Redskins, a source familiar with the injury told Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Schwartz acknowledged that Bush will be sore but said that the results of Monday's tests were "encouraging."

"The tests today were encouraging," Schwartz said Monday. "He's going to be sore but he doesn't have anything that is going to be long term."

However, Schwartz also emphasized that Bush's injury might not be a short-term one.

"It's too hard to speculate on injuries," Schwartz said. "That's why I usually don't."
