Lions running back Reggie Bush put together a monster performance in the team's season-opening victory over the Minnesota Vikings, but he finished the contest a little worse for wear. In the first quarter of Sunday's 34-24 win, Bush suffered injuries to his thumb and groin. Trying to haul in a low pass from quarterback Matthew Stafford on a 3rd-and-1 play in the red zone, Bush's thumb was dislocated. "It was facing the wrong direction," he said. The training staff was able to pop it back into place and the veteran running back didn't miss a snap. "Thankfully I was able to just tape it up and carry the ball in my right hand," he said. The next offensive series, Bush suffered another injury, this time tweaking his groin but coach Jim Schwartz was hardly surprised the veteran toughed it out. "That's what those guys do," Schwartz said. "No guy is going to come out because of a little thing like that." Source: MLive.com
He pulled his groin in the first quarter? Lol...he should do that more often. 90 rushing and 100+ receiving? Pretty damned good for having a pulled groin.
as we were guessing, bush is a great fit in the lions offensive scheme. he had many opportunities to get into the open field since teams can't load up with 8 guys in the box because of the lions passing threat. he was all over the field. they are definitely going to be a fun offense to watch.
Its been a while since he's heard the crowd chanting his name in a dome.. probably was pretty motivating :)
