All three of the Lions seventh rounders - tight end Dan Gronkowski, linebacker Zack Follett and tackle Lydon Murtha - were released. The Lions also released defensive tackle Shaun Smith, who appeared to be playing well enough to earn a roster spot. The other players released were: linebacker Rufus Alexander, quarterback Brooks Bollinger, guard Milford Brown, tight end Carson Butler, running back Aveion Cason, receiver Keary Colbert, defensive end Sean Conover, kicker Billy Cundiff, defensive tackle Chuck Darby, running back Tristan Davis, center Dan Gerberry, wide receiver Dane Looker, safety Calvin Lowry, cornerback Ramzee Robinson, safety Stuart Schweigert, linebacker Spenser Smith and wide receiver John Standeford.

Interesting that they would cut Shaun Smith. As of now Sammie Hill is starting at DT.

interestng but not shocking moves we had so little talent that the bottem 20 players on the roster would be cut by most teams still

SLH isnt the starter Cohen as of now would be the starter

from the way i see it they decided keeping Smith/Darby would not have won games for so they decided they minds well get the younger players reps and see what they have becuase DT is the #1 target for next years draft

    guessing that none are claimed

    Dan Gronkowski
    Zack Follett
    Lydon Murtha
    Rufus Alexander
    Tristan Davis
    Dan Gerberry

    will be the PS

and im willing to set it in stone that we pickup/claim at least 6-7 guys in the coming days
