The Detroit Lions on Friday released defensive tackle Grady Jackson, who signed with the Lions last year as a free agent and used his 6-foot-2, 345-pound body to plug the middle. He played 15 games, starting 13, fairly remarkable for a 13-year NFL veteran coming off knee surgery who barely practiced. He turned 37 on Jan. 21 and was signed for two more seasons at a base salary of $2 million. Source: Detroit Free Press
