The Detroit Lions have released yet another former draft pick. The latest to be let go is safety Amari Spievey, according to Dave Birkett. Spievey joined the Lions back in 2010 as a third-round draft pick and was moved from cornerback to safety, where he started nine games in his rookie season. He went on to start 15 games in 2011, and he suffered a concussion in the Lions' playoff game that season. He suffered another concussion in 2012, and that one actually ended his season after only five games. Source: SBNation.com
Panthers should look into him. Maybe not sign him to a large deal. Something cheap, to make it a low-risk gamble
