Detroit Lions receiver Nate Burleson was fined $15,000 by the NFL for his actions in Sunday’s 44-6 win over the St. Louis Rams. Burleson said the fine was both for kicking the ball into the stands after his third-quarter touchdown and for lifting his jersey to reveal a message on his undershirt during pregame introductions. The message on his shirt --“What up Doe?â€￾ -- was a nod to Detroit, Burleson said. “They were kind of rough on me,â€￾ Burleson said of the NFL. “They got me.â€￾ Burleson apologized to Lions coach Jim Schwartz and several others on the sideline after punting the ball into the stands. The kick drew a 15-yard penalty on the field.
