Detroit Lions receiver Nate Burleson was fined $15,000 by the NFL for his actions in Sunday’s 44-6 win over the St. Louis Rams. Burleson said the fine was both for kicking the ball into the stands after his third-quarter touchdown and for lifting his jersey to reveal a message on his undershirt during pregame introductions. The message on his shirt --“What up Doe?†-- was a nod to Detroit, Burleson said. “They were kind of rough on me,†Burleson said of the NFL. “They got me.†Burleson apologized to Lions coach Jim Schwartz and several others on the sideline after punting the ball into the stands.
