CARSON, Calif. -- No Major League Soccer team with a Designated Player had won an MLS Cup prior to Sunday night. In one moment, three DPs combined to buck that trend.
Landon Donovan finished off a pass from Robbie Keane in the 72nd minute to break a scoreless deadlock and deliver the MLS Cup to the Los Angeles Galaxy following a 1-0 result over the Houston Dynamo in front of 30,281 at the Home Depot Center. David Beckham, in perhaps his final game in MLS, started the sequence by flicking a header toward Keane, who shook by defender Bobby Boswell before finding Donovan making a run into space. Donovan, who won match MVP honors, touched his shot by goalkeeper Tally Hall and inside the far post before bolting for the corner flag with a sliding celebration. With the championship, Bruce Arena became the first coach in MLS history to win three MLS Cup titles, with this being his first since winning it all with D.C. United in 1997.

Great season by the Galaxy. Now the big question is will Beckham head back to Jolly Ol' England to try and draw 1 more spot in the World Cup? I think he should stay in MLS personally and finish out his career, win another title or 2 and buy a team. Or get into coaching. Coaching in the States would be a great start to his coaching career which he's already said that he wants to do. Start here, win some titles and then there will be international teams begging him to coach. Smart move.

But smart money says the MLS is in his rearview. Thanks for the memories!

    Blu N Houston ¡Vamos Houston!

We (DYNAMO FANS) smoked their crib out...Don Garber is still pissed after we popped off 5 orange smoke bombs. Some of the drunks started throwning these little flashlights the dynamo FO gave us at Beckham, that's why you saw him and Landon holding crap up at the end before the final whistle.
Even thou the Dynamo lost,we had a blast. 27 hour trip via van, with 10 other drunks. Fun times...great memories and 2-3 MLS cup wins in 5 years ain't bad.
