Martellus Bennett Says Cowboys QB Tony Romo ‘Isn’t In The Same League As Eli Manning’

After not catching a single touchdown pass the previous three seasons with the Cowboys, Martellus Bennett has snagged three in three games with the New York Giants.

Because of Jason Witten, it’s unlikely that Bennett was ever going to be the primary pass-catching tight end in Dallas.

But according to the outspoken Texas A&M product, his lack of production could have something to do with the quarterback. Apparently, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo isn’t on the same elite level as Giants quarterback Eli Manning.

“Romo isn’t in the same league as Eli Manning. Not even close,â€￾ Bennett was overheard saying at a New York restaurant.

According to the New York Post, Bennett made the statement to a waiter while he and teammate Michael Coe were dining at the Old Homestead Steakhouse.

So being overheard in a New York restaurant saying that a New York QB is better than a division rival QB is a credible statement? To me I think he was saying that so he wouldn't get spit in his food. New York post dropped the ball on this one.

On "this one"? They buy anything to make a headline. NY Post is awful. Either Bennett was extremely drunk to say such a thing to a waiter, or more than likely...this was just someone making up a bullcrap story to get paid by the NY Post.

Bennett has always been "open mouth first think later". That's why his butt got cut from Dallas he is to worried about being stupid then smart. And it effected his play.

Does anyone really think a SB ring is going to end up on Romo's hand?

Not the smartest thing he's ever said. Not only are they in the same league, they're in the same conference and division.

Our problem has more to do with who runs the organization then the players themselves IMO. If Romo was on a differant team I think he could win. But not with the Cowboys. Jerry more concerned with making 3 dollars instead of 2.

I don't think it will, but not because of Romo...

they are both starting QBs in the same league. imo it would have been better to say romo cant get over the superbowl hump

Do you disagree that Eli Manning is in another league than Romo?

Manning is better than Romo...I've always been a Manning supporter. You can go back and look that I defended him against his haters. But people just pile on Romo for the sake of piling on him.

There are less QBs to hate after the Mannings won their rinngs. I wonder why Rivers or Ryan don't get a little of that hate. They're chokers too.

If they were the QB of the Cowboys they would be.

Lol. You guys in your own little Cowboys world are funny. Rivers gets plenty of heat for not making it deep into the postseason. Every above-average QB that has had multiple chances in the playoffs and walked away without a trophy gets the business.
