Marty Mornhinweg hasn’t been an NFL head coach in the last decade, but he may be back in the game now. Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the Eagles’ offensive coordinator interviewed with the Raiders yesterday for their head coaching vacancy. Mornhinweg traveled to Oakland for the interview and left without being hired. The 49-year-old journeyman coach is in the running for the position, but the Raiders have interviewed several other candidates including Dolphins interim head coach Todd Bowles. There was speculation that Mornhinweg would make a run at the opening in Indianapolis, but the Eagles have yet to receive a request from Mornhinweg for permission to talk to the Colts.

The dude ran one of the top offense in the NFL last year and has taken the Eagles offense and made it something potent. Stop judging this guy by his time with the Lions. Bellichek started out AWFUL and look where he is now. Give the man a chance, holy crap.

I get what duke is saying we were the 4th best offense this year but how much of that is MM who knows.

This doesn't make sense. There are a lot of good coaches and teams every year that aren't in the Super Bowl.

I think Morhinweg would do better in Indy. Let the Raiders hire someone like a Juan Castillo.

castillo could barley handle being a DC not even close to HC material

Castillo is one of the best Offensive line coaches in the NFL. The man understands offensive schemes like only few others in the NFL. I think he'd of been an amazing OC and potentially even a HC. A head coach doesn't have to be awesome at calling an offense and a defense. They need to have solid coordinators behind them. I understand why the Eagles made Castillo the DC. He understands offense and they assumed that he'd be able to use that to his advantage on defense. Unfortunately this past season that didn't work. But I think Castillo should someday get a chance at running an offense and potentially being a head coach. I don't think he will but I think he should.

But onto Marty, I think he'd do real well in Indy but I don't think he'd be awful in Oakland.

Yea he has either luck or manning to work with in indy but as for castillo idk im just not sold on him as ever being a head coach i dont really want him as our DC again next year. Looks like thats whats gonna happen though well see maybe with another year under his belt.

I will NEVER not talk crap about MM. He wasn't your HC who along with Matt Millen ruined your franchise the second they came hand and hand skipping into the Lions building. The dude is a joke. I cringe everytime someone mentions that Overtime he is famous for. I know this offseason is kinda looking bleak for good HC's or name HC's but when teams are looking at Brad Childress? Mike Tice? Marty Morningwig? You got problems.
