Well if the players don't get motivated after his media press they never will be.

 

The exact type of guy we need leading our team. I love it!

Who was he talking about when he said that player would help the team more by going and taking a shower and watching the rest of the game?

The thing I like about this press conference is that Singletary didn't give the WE GOT TO GET BETTER excuse. There are way too many head coaches in this league that take crap from their players and it took an interim head coach thats has the passion for the game to send out the message that he WILL NOT take any bullcrap from his players, no matter how much money you are making. Like I said in another thread, there are too many players who don't have respect for the game that they play and Singletary took a stand.

 

Great to see the emotion from Mike. Gotta love an old school ball coach who tells a kid to hit the showers! Rock on Mike.

 

I love it and more coaches in the NFL need to be like this with some of their players. It can only help us IMO

 

I love it, actually worth watching unlike any of Nolan's.

Holy smokes. First time I saw this live. Hysterical. It's sort of refreshing to see a coach that tells it like it is and won't accept the bullcrap from some of these players.

I saw the highlights with no sound and kind of felt a little embarrassed for Vernon Davis. Maybe this will be a reality check for Davis and this team.

Put this up there with the classics!

I'm still not sold that Singletary's attitude will help the niners. I'm not saying it won't but I see alot of these NFL players today as petulant children and I don't know if they will respond positivly and be motivated by this approach.... if he had 2-3 years he could bring in the right kind of players and build a team that WILL but I doubt the Niners FO give him that much time and leeway. I am sure that some on this team I am sure resent him pulling this power trip on week 1 of his coaching stint with them and they know A) their season is likely over already and B )this guy's rope is really short so why kill themselves for him.

For Niner fans sake I hope i am wrong
