    The franchise tag designation is a crapshoot, financially for both team and player. It puts added pressure on a player to prove his worth for that particular year. But it looks like the franchise tag on a player as it stands right now is on a "case-by-case" basis with teams these days. And Lance, you're no Joey Porter.
