How could Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo have seen this coming? Eddie Johnson's late deflected goal (thanks to David Luiz defending with his back turned) gave the MLS All-Stars a 3-2 win, just reward for a lively, coherent effort. It was to be expected that the de-facto home side had a little less rust in its boots given that it's midway through its season. But no-one expected the Blues to struggle as they did. Make no mistake that the league will take full advantage of the bragging rights and self-confidence boost that come in victory. ESPN.com
idk, but commentators said this was chelseas line up for the season. but they're still in preseason form. seems the refs called a very favorable game towards mls, 5 fouls for mls 16 fouls for chelsea
Pre-Season Friendly...Chelsea couldn't give two craps about this game. I wouldn't invest anything into this victory for the MLS.
MLS IS getting better but they're a long way off. The MLS all stars are international worthy players like Chris Wondolowski, Thiery Henry, David Beckham, etc. It's a decent league but it's not one of the best in the world. Either way that was a very lucky goal for a Craptle Sounder and the refs also sucked butt. There was an OBVIOUS handball in the MLS box seconds before this that wasn't called plus a few obvious fouls. This was Chelseas A team and the MLS played them hard. Good game all around.
