I think the hypocrisy of the NFL will be in full view as more and more info on this comes out. They still have yet to investigate the Ravens who admitted to it.

they will. I still think the punishment is for the lying and not stopping when they was told to.

eh, that seems to be the prevailing thought around here but I'm not buying it. The league was going to hand out severe penalties on this whether or not anyone lied or didn't stop in the past. Here are the reasons the penalties were so stiff:

    1) The snitch was going to go public

    2) The commissioners office knew that if they did not drop the hammer, they would be call hypocrites since they claim player safety is a priority

    3) The league is fighting multi-million dollar lawsuits all over the country from players who claim the league didn't look out for their safety in the past.

Ravens had a "bounty" on Ward and Mendenhall not too long ago.

but if they would have stopped in '10 then this wouldn't have happened. And it didn't help after the Super Bowl season to do that. I thought they were going for the kill shot too many times instead of wrapping up and tackling. Now I know why. Look I am a die hard Saints fan for over 35 years, got a room in my house dedicated to the Saints, painted black and gold, but this crap is hecked up. They need to be made an example out of and I have no problem with that. I don't think anyone else will get caught doing it again. If so I feel sorry for them. Hate to see what the price they will pay after all this.

Antonio Pierce says Gregg Williams' speech was commonplace the night before the game, feels he went too far when telling players to go after the head of a player with a concussion, incentive programs and would play for Williams today.

I don't have any problem believing bounties have been commonplace for a long time (I recall Buddy Ryan putting bounties on the Cowboys back when he coached the Eagles) but it is Roger's world now and he is imposing his will big-time. I'm definitely not a fan of everything Roger is doing but the Saints did get warned and kept doing it so...eh, ultimately once you get outed for something like that it is probably a good idea to stop or Ginger is going to ram it up your butt hard and deep. :icon_eek:

Fans like Buck suffer a lot... and the reason it is because of williams... Sorry that I am wrong but this is what I understand from this bounty scandal... I believe that williams should take all the blame not the players..... he was the mind behind all this....
