OK JJ put your damn rpide aside and think long and hrad about your succesrate/failures as a GM. there had enough time resign do it know think of the fans and the team. you know your football but time to let a pro do it some who is not preoccupied with the other duties in the organization. you can still be the owner and president bt STEP down as GM. Quit your freaking meddling and undermining the coaches all we need ya to do is sign the damn paychecks. this is the only way i see the cowboys returning to their winning ways.

jerry hasnt done a bad job with the draft IMO, it's the free agent signings he fails at.

While I totally agree with you, Jerry will not step down as GM until he's dead and buried.

And while we're at it, I think Cowboys fans can forget a big name coach coming in like Shanahan, Cowher, Holmgren, etc. for that very reason. Those coaches are going to want to be more than head coach, and Jerry is not about to give up control of the team to anyone. So expect a yes man along the lines of Dave Campo, Chan Gailey, etc.

At some point, Jerry is going to have to sit down and have a conversation with himself. He's going to need to ask himself which is more important, total control of the team or winning Super Bowls? I don't think he can have both.

I don't think Shanahan will want to be more than a head coach. He was given personnel decision power in Denver after the Super Bowls, and only won what? one play-off game after Elway retired? Shanahan might go back to basics. Just coach and let someone else make the decisions. That's why I think he's the perfect fit.

In fact, watch it happen if/when Jason Garrett takes the head coaching job in Detroit.

i dont think he has done a bad job completely in the draft but as over all with him at the helm of GM we have not had good seasons

Was the decision to use Romo extensively in the preseason while Bledsoe was the starter Jones' decision or Parcells'? I would think if Parcells wasn't around, Jones wouldn't have realized Romo even existed.
