Nate Robinson and the Denver Nuggets have agreed to a two-year contract worth just more than $4 million, the Denver Post reported Monday. Citing a league source, the Post reported that the deal is for the Nuggets' bi-annual salary-cap exception, which is worth $4.03 million. The 5-foot-9 Robinson played in a career-high 82 games last season with the Chicago Bulls, averaging 13.1 points and 4.4 assists. Although he served primarily as a backup in his only season in Chicago, Robinson was an important offensive player for the injury-plagued Bulls and averaged 16.3 points per game in the playoffs. Robinson, 29, figures to again play in a reserve role under first-year coach Brian Shaw with the Nuggets, who already feature star point guard Ty Lawson. A first-round draft pick in 2005, Robinson has averaged 11.5 points per game over parts of eight seasons with the Bulls, Golden State Warriors, Oklahoma City Thunder, Boston Celtics and New York Knicks.
