Coach Rex Ryan acknowledged discussing Ed Reed, who became a free agent on Wednesday after clearing waivers, with General Manager John Idzik, but it is unclear whether there will be a reunion, Ben Shpigel of the New York Times reports.. Ryan coached Reed in Baltimore, where Reed played 11 seasons before signing with the Texans, who cut him on Tuesday. He endorsed a pursuit of Reed, saying, “yes, I’d like him on our team,†before citing several other former players whom he would also like to coach again.
