    A day after learning he has a partially torn ligament in his pitching elbow, New York Mets ace Matt Harvey indicated he planned to bypass Tommy John surgery and pitch next season.

    Harvey took to Twitter on Tuesday afternoon with an optimistic message:

    Thank you everyone for the kind words and support. I may be done this year, but I will be back next year for April 1.
