In an informal NFP poll of personnel guys, general managers and even a few owners last week, a total of eight coaches were cited as possibly being in some trouble if they don't win this season. There were a few obvious names, such as Ron Rivera of Carolina, Dallas' Jason Garrett, Jim Schwartz of Detroit, and the New York Jets' Rex Ryan. But in the wake of remarks made by Tennessee owner Bud Adams, that he had invested big money during the offseason to import talent and will be "real unhappy" if the Titans don't have a good season, several people prominently mentioned Mike Munchak as a guy who could be under scrutiny.

To me, Ron Rivera is in the same situation Lovie Smith was last year and that is having a new GM that didn't hire you. Unless Carolina makes the playoffs, he's gone after this year.

Rex Ryan is in the same situation Ron Rivera is in with the Jets having a new GM. The clock is ticking on Rex in the big apple.

rex ryan is gone unless the jets shock the world.he'll be an offensive coordinator somewhere next year. In my view,if the skins lay an egg and don't come close to making the playoffs, shanahan's butt may be gone too.as for jason garrett, unless the cowboys collapse,i don't see garrett getting the boot during the season.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Cowboys go 8-8 or better and Garrett is still there next year. I think Ryan has to be gone unless, like Diesel said, something ridiculously good happens in NY and the Jets make it deep into the playoffs...AFC Championship.

I think RGIII bought Shanahan a couple more seasons...if the regress this year, I think he has one more year of "regression" before they let him go.

the panthers coach is in a tough spot. he inherited a team what, while they have good players on defense, is totally devoid of real talent on offense. Not sold on Cam still.

rex is definitely known for his offensive knowledge and will be a great hire to replace kyle shanahan
