The NFL has formally opened an investigation into charges by the Tennessee Titans that the Washington Redskins tampered with defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth before the start of free agency in February, according to two sources with knowledge of the situation. Haynesworth signed a seven-year, $100 million contract with the Redskins which includes $41 million guaranteed. If its proved that the Redskins contacted Haynesworth too early, the team could lose a draft pick. Source: Yahoo sports
Guilty as sin. ...on a side note I don't think the words probe and Albert Haynesworth should be in the same sentence again, ever.
They probably knew this beforehand, what the penalty would be and did it anyways. They don't mind the 5 or 6 draft picks they have every year. I'm just wondering what round would they be penalized... a 1st sounds good to me. That will prevent them from drafting another Texas stud next year, LB Sergio Kindle is the one I speak of.
tampering? i was under the impression the titans were no where near the $$$$$ that big haynes was going to get
Yeah, if the Redskins aren't guilty, then I don't know how. The Redskins did sign Haynesworth to that big fat butt contract awful fast.
