Dashon Goldson was penalized for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Saints running back Darren Sproles on Sunday, a week after he was fined $30,000 for a similar hit on Jets tight end Jeff Cumberland. As a result, the NFL is considering a suspension for Goldson, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Cumberland had to leave the Week 1 game to receive stitches in his chin after Goldson led with his helmet to break up a pbutt. Goldson was called for a personal foul because Cumberland was considered a “defenseless†receiver. After the Jets game, Goldson told reporters that he can’t “play timid†and has to “play football,†while the referees have a “tough job†in officiating hard hits. Source:Sports Illustrated
