Tiki Barber's comeback so far has been no comeback at all. It's consisted of five months of draining workouts at his old gym in New Jersey and one tryout with the Dolphins in early August that did not result in a contract offer. Forget about any team even offering him a contract for the $910,000 veteran minimum (10 seasons or more) with no guarantees for players with at least 10 years in the league, which is likely all it would take to get him. Miami was his only tryout, and no other team has asked him to come in for a work out. He's 36 years old, ancient for a running back, he's missed the last four seasons after retiring following the 2006 season and he's considered a clubhouse lawyer. "Somebody might give him a tryout. Nobody is going to give him any money," one GM said when Barber announced in March he was coming back. "I wouldn't even acknowledge it. I would rather read the cartoons. What running back plays at 36? Who wants to bring a guy in for one year?" Source: NY Daily News
