Rickey Jackson Becomes First Saints Player In Hall Of Fame

Linebacker Rickey Jackson starred for 13 years with the New Orleans Saints, retired as the NFL's third all-time leading quarterback sacker, and was selected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday. He is the first player who spent the bulk of his career with the Saints to be selected. Jackson spent 13 years with the Saints before finishing his career with the 49ers.

Only surprises were Russ Grimm & John Randle IMO, not that they don't deserve it. Rickey Jackson would have been in the suprise list but I believe that the Who Dat hype is what pushed him in finally.

I can understand why Tim Brown and Cris Carter missed out being WR's, but I'm surprised that Shannon Sharpe got shafted again.

Rickey Jackson was the anchor for the best LB corps of all time.......the Who Dat hype didn't have much to do with that

Your not seeing the point I'm making. He's a great player, one of the all time best LB's, but the reason why he's in now and wasn't before because of all the Saints Superbowl hype and has made the voters think about the team.

I love Jackson, Grimm and Randle, they are all deserving, but there's no way you could convince me that they deserved it more than Carter, Brown, Dawson or even Roger Craig for that matter.

We honestly shouldn't be suprised. Richard Dent and John Randle finished with the same amount of career sacks, 137.5. One difference is how many Super Bowls did John Randle play in? Heres a hint, that number is a big fat donut. While Richard Dent on the other hand has two Super Bowl rings (Super Bowl 20 with the Bears and Super Bowl 29 with the 49ers). Plus he is the MVP of Super Bowl XX. Oh well, whatever.
