NFL Network Gets Highest Viewership Ever For NFL Draft Coverage

If there is viewer fatigue with the NFL over the lockout, it did not affect the NFL Network during its three-day coverage of the NFL draft. NFL Network experienced its largest viewership ever for the draft, with an average of 566,000 viewers between Thursday and Saturday, that contrasts sharply with ESPN, on which viewership sank to an average of 6 million from 7.3 million last year. (Via SportsBusiness Daily) So while combined viewership was down, NFL Network saw growth, including a best-ever Round 1 number of 1.04 million. Last week, there was debate about which network provided better coverage of the draft,ESPN has wider distribution than NFL Network. But the league-owned channel -- with coverage anchored by Rich Eisen, Mike Mayock, et al. -- is trending up in the competition with ESPN's Chris Berman, Mel Kiper Jr. et al.

Let's be honest...it's name calling and speculation. My favorite part is after when writers and others hand out grades and make the winner/loser brackets...

Anyone dishing out "grades" on this class before 2014 should be in the loser bracket...lol.

Aside from when they cut to Jamie Dukes and co during the middle of the first round, yeah NFLN is better.

I admit tho, I watched ESPN's coverage at the start/end...because that's the only coverage that is shown on TV here (and in the HD).

And yeah, Gruden sucks and felt empty when it's only Kiper who has any clue of what he's talking about.

Gruden thinks anyone who trades up is doing it to grab a QB. He starts throwing the 4 names around that he knows every trade.

lol...I posted this before you came out with your grades I believe. You chose to be a "loser."

I just can't see how people can come up with these grades without seeing the players play a down in the NFL. Like I said in the other threads, I'd rather see the grades on the 2007-2008 draft classes.

I get what your saying. I just did it on value and how I think it will turn out.

    NFLN is definately better.
