Despite a seemingly large increase in injuries to star players this year, the NFL is still pushing for an 18-game regular season, according to Pro Football Talk. The NFLPA has repeatedly turned down the 18-game proposal by the NFL over the last few years. The league most recently had offered the game increase during the last collective bargaining agreement negotiation, but the NFLPA declined. The league put the talk on hold over the last two seasons but the rehash of the proposal shows a determined desire from the NFL to expand its season format. If the league were to increase the games in the regular season to 18, the players would share in the revenue increase. Source:SBNation
We already had this conversation before...turn two preseason games inyo regular season games. Done and done. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini using Tapatalk 4
Cant do that. Cutting out two preseason games would be brutal on the players and isn't enough time to evaluate some of the talent. Unless they increase the roster sizes.
That's what it's all about. They want to squeeze as much money as possible out of the game. NFL says they are concerned about player safety while at the same time want to expand the season. Bunch of two-faced greedy old farts, that's all they are.
^^This^^ The way they're regulating this game, the idea of flag football will keep the players on the field longer...at least to them.
Thats what happens when you put a business man in control. Its not for the love of the game after that point.
from what I heard on tv they are saying that each player will only play 16 games out of the 18. Who in the hell will put in back ups if they need that game. won't work.
Doesn't sound bad for me!! We can play Romo from September to November and sit him in December :icon_cheesygrin:
