The NFL has asked an arbitrator to dismiss the challenge by the Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys to salary cap reductions imposed by the league, according to a person with knowledge of the case. The league’s request asserts that because the NFL Players Association agreed to the salary cap cuts, the teams should not be able to contest them, according to the person, who provided the information on the condition of anonymity because the arbitration proceedings are confidential. It’s not clear when the arbitrator, University of Pennsylvania law professor Stephen Burbank, will rule on the request. A hearing in the case is scheduled for May 10. Source: Washington Post
