Chicago Bears wide receiver Earl Bennett, who was fined $10,000 last week for wearing orange shoes, has been told he will not be allowed on the field if he wears the shoes again, a league source told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen. Last Sunday against the Lions was Bennett's second uniform violation for wearing the shoes. He told ESPN 1000 earlier this week that he had heard the fine would continue to increase and "after that I've heard that they are going to call delay of game and maybe kick me out of the game." Bennett has 14 catches for 196 yards and a touchdown on the season. He missed five games due to a chest injury he suffered against the New Orleans Saints in Week 2. Source: ESPN Chicago
As much as i'd love to see Earl Bennett wear those orange cleats again, I don't want to see him keep giving his money away.
seriously? they're going to have security prevent him from going on the field because of the color of his shoes? freaking nazis. i can understand the league having a dress code so the players don't start wearing all sorts of different colors.... they want a consistent product and it would look stupid if all the players were wearing different colors. but just fine the crap out of the players if they want to do it ....... don't keep them off the field.
Just Do It!!! I'd love to see the "security" prevent a player from going on the field...the Bears would still have to pay him no?

Who the heck cares what color shoes the players are wearing? What fan is watching the games like "Oh my god that guys is wearing orange shoes!!! No more NFL for me!" The NFL is taking itself way too freaking seriously. Fans want personality and entertainment and the league is trying to eliminate both of them.
