In late March, reports surfaced that the league was considering the possibility of selling discreet corporate sponsorships to team practice jerseys. The rule had not yet been adopted; apparently, it was during last months league meetings. Its a rare opportunity for somebody to gain massive exposure for their brand and align so closely with the Texans persona, team president Jamey Rootes told Megan Manfull of the Houston Chronicle. To be able to do those two things looks like a great way to create value for our partners and create revenue for our franchise. And Rootes suggests as we surmised in March that this is the first step toward what in time could be corporate logos appearing on game-day uniforms.

I don't know how I feel about this...I guess I don't really have a problem on practice jerseys, except that it is the first step towards sponsorship on game jerseys. I cant get the vision of soccer uniforms, and nfl europe uniforms out of my head. It's incredibly stupid looking.

Don't think it's going to happen, some NFL owners actually own their own businesses, and wouldn't be too fond of sponsoring potential rivals on their team jerseys.

    I don't think it's going to happen.

It will and since the teams can make their own deals, the owners can use the logos of their own companies

I hate the idea of this, but it's going to benefit the teams tremendously to have these large corporations pay top dollar to have their logo's on the practice jerseys. However, it is only a practice jersey so some of these large corporations may not be so quick to jump at the opportunity. I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't see a lot of local companies being the majority of sponsors on these jerseys.

I dont get the point you dont see the team at practice 90% of the time.

But it does get TV coverage, and that's still getting your product out there to millions of people.

Actually during training camp a lot of people will see the jerseys...also if you think about it, any pictures taken at practice/training camp (which are a lot,) the news coverage on a national and local level...it is all good exposure...and they'll probably tie it in with something else as well...whether it be signage, food, beverage, it could be whatever...
