The NFL has notified its teams that no HGH testing will be conducted before the season begins next Thursday. In a document sent to all 32 teams and obtained by The Associated Press on Friday, NFL lead counsel Jeff Pash says a disagreement with the union over testing procedures will prevent the program from starting before Week 1. When the league and players' association struck a new collective bargaining agreement, blood testing for human growth hormone was part of the deal -- but only if the union agreed to the methods. The NFLPA has not agreed, however, saying it needs more information on the safety and reliability of the tests from the World Anti-Doping Agency. The NFL would be the first of the major American professional sports leagues to implement HGH testing. Source: Associated Press
No crap. It ain't happening ever. Ever. Like I've said it's a privacy thing. Blood test would reveal physical conditions such as hereditary diseases and such. All it takes is one dipcrap reporter finding that info out and reporting it and the entire league would get their butt sued to hell and back. Ain't gonna ever pass with the NFLPA.
and see how players take longer to come back from an injury now. makes you wonder how prevalent it was in its heyday. but it will get done in the nfl soon.
Which in itself is nothing short of hilarious, considering the MLB's testing is multiple decades behind the rest of the world. America's stance as a whole to anti-doping is nothing short of a complete utter embarrassment.
America loves winners. They are willing to look the other way unless it is shoved in their faces then they pretend outrage. If you took out all "performance enhancers" in all sports the scene would look totally different. Players would be smaller, slower. Just certain enhancers are not welcomed. Just about anything can be an enhancer. The whole thing is a joke.
