The NFL has decided not to suspend Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Aqib Talib. Talib met with commissioner Roger Goodell on Tuesday to discuss the player's role in an offseason shooting in Texas. Bucs general manager Mark Dominik said the team supports the league's decision, but isn't pleased with the situation. "I don't want to have to deal with these types of things," Dominik said Saturday. "I think Aqib and our football team know that's not the type of football team we want to be and build here. We want to be a team that our community can be proud of. I'm not relieved because I don't want to be in these types of situations. "I'd rather him and our players not be involved in matters like this. But the truth of the matter is that this is America and he's getting his opportunity." The fourth-year pro, who's arguably the team's best defensive player, is facing a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following an incident in March in which police in the Dallas suburb of Garland say they believe the 25-year-old player and his mother shot at a man. Dominik said the team would monitor the case and acknowledged it would be fair to say any action would be pending trial, which is scheduled for next March. Source: ESPN
So Terrell Pryor is suspended for 5 games because of something he did in college that didn't actually hurt anyone besides the pocketbooks of a few schools. Aqib Talib is involved in a SHOOTING and he doesn't get 1 FREAKING game?! Roger Goodell has most definitely surpassed Bud Selig as the worst commissioner in sports, PERIOD! The sad part is it took Bud like 15 years to solidify that he was garbage. Goodell has done this all in a matter of just a few years!
Wow.. I guess it is ok to pistol whip someone in when you play in the NFL. Just don't heck up in college cause that is frowned upon . smh
