    Before U.S. District Court Judge Paul Magnuson in St. Paul is whether the NFL violated public policy by failing to divulge it knew bumetanide was in StarCaps two years before a league arbitrator punished the five players for ingesting the banned substance. A union proposal, which the NFL has not rejected, would have the players pay fines equivalent to four games of salary instead of serving suspensions, said a lawyer in the case who spoke on condition of anonymity because the person was not authorized to discuss negotiations.
