Nike will become the official uniform and sideline apparel provider for the National Football League, replacing Reebok, which had those rights for the last 10 years. In addition to tweaks to several existing jerseys -- the Seattle Seahawks are expected to unveil some uniform changes in early April -- there will be a change in where fans can purchase their team's favorite jerseys. Smaller retailers in the New York area, who rely heavily on their NFL apparel sales and have had existing relationships with Reebok, have already been told that Nike will not sell to them, Eliot Caroom of The Star-Ledger reports. "Reebok came back and said I’m not being accepted by Nike," Norman Leventhal, owner of the Stadium Shop in Newark's Gateway Mall, said. "I said, 'Am I the only one?' (Reebok) got back to me...it’s all the little stores." Elliot Cohen of Grand Slam New York in Times Square was informed that his business "does not fit in Nike’s overall development plans" and was denied an account with the apparel giant. According to NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy, "licensees determine which retail outlets they sell to." Source: Mac's Football Blog

Haha my girl musta found a dude who knew about this before Christmas bc she grabbed me a field authentic Browns jersey for like $60, and it's not a knockoff. Didn't have the heart to tell her that at the time it looked like there was no chance Hillis would be back, but hooray, looks like it might not be a waste. But you all would tremble if you saw my collection of now-irrelevant Cleveland jerseys.
