Giants close out the Braves tonight. Giants/Phillies to decide who will represent the National League in the World Series...
Giants/Phillies, would have been nice to see them go one more and have lincecum not be available for the first game, but should be a pitchers' series, no doubt. what happened to the quick reply?
epic pitching match-up for the opener. i think the phillies will be able to put a few runs up on san fran while their bats get silenced for the most part. phills in 5.
yes that pitching mactup is goona be good i hate to say it but im gonna root for you Philli fans this go round
Phillies held the top hitting, homer run and run scoring team to the lowest hits ever in a 3 game series. I think The Phillies pitching is pretty good.
Lincecum-Halladay match-up in game one is totally epic. Runs are going to be a premium in this series.
Neither team has the edge in starting pitching. I don't think Oswalt will pitch well at all. Hamels and Halladay I'm sure will be tough as crap to face.
Oswalt was our best pitcher down the stretch, to just say he won't pitch well at all doesn't make any sense.
oswalt didn't even pitch that bad in the NLDS. utley surely didn't help him but the only reason he got pulled was because the phillies hadn't scored a run and the game was still close.
Phillies pitching is overall better than the Giants. Halladay >>Lincecum. Oswalt had below a 1.75 ERA for the Phils...that's not good? lol. If you want to say that the Giants know Oswalt better than Hamels or Halladay and base it off that, I could almost buy that. But Oswalt's been solid. It could come down to what catcher calls a better game and I'll take Ruiz over Posey everyday. The only time the Phillies pitching hasn't been "good" has been when the Phils don't score runs... On paper it's easily the Phillies >> Giants in pitching. I'm just afraid that the Phils bats could get cold.
i wait this frigging wait. i also hate the national media dopes that keep saying "is philly going to be rusty after this big layoff ?" ummmm, the giants/braves series ended about 24hrs after the phillies/reds.
