No. 1 draft pick Cam Newton has signed with the Carolina Panthers and has arrived at camp. The team announced Friday evening that he had signed a deal and was attending team meetings. The Panthers also said on Twitter that the quarterback "had officially signed on the dotted line." The four-year deal is worth more than $22 million and is fully guaranteed. Newton was seen Friday evening driving into the back lot of the Richardson Physical Activities Building and entering the offices that serve as team headquarters for Carolina's training camp at Wofford College.

Wow...not even half of Bradford's money and $8 million less than
    Scott's 2008 deal...

Gotta live the rookie cap. Makes it easy...

Not a fan of it being completely guaranteed deal though. Cam is one of those guys that you'd expect to slack the first three years then go all out contract year (That's if he has the talent to do so in the big leagues).

I do like the fact that the clubs don't have to break the bank for unproven players.. The days of Jawalrus Russell are over.

I think Cam will be a serviceable QB.. Not sure if he is/was worth a 1st overall pick but I guess only time will tell.

you gotta love the rookie cap. Newton didn't get even half of what Bradford got. Now he is gonna need to earn that extra cash in future years

    I believe it was $50 million. I think Stafford was $40 (2009) and Scott was $30 (2008.)

The guaranteed part was $50 million. His contract was over $75 million and could go to $86 million.
