Former Texas Rangers and New York Mets manager Bobby Valentine, now an analyst for ESPN, met Friday with Baltimore Orioles owner Peter Angelos and general manager Andy MacPhail about the club's managerial situation, a source confirmed Friday. Valentine said, "Out of concern to all parties, I have no comment on what I have been doing or who I have been talking to.'' The Orioles fired Dave Trembley on June 4, and replaced him with interim manager Juan Samuel. It is unclear whether another managerial change will come during the season, or whether the Orioles will wait until after the season. Since returning last year from Japan, where he managed for seven years, Valentine has had contact with other major league teams about managing, including the Indians, Nationals and Marlins. ESPN.com
