Alex Ovechkin continued his statistical dominance and reached a career milestone Friday when he calmly slid the puck into an empty net to seal a 4-2 victory for the Washington Capitals against theCarolina Hurricanes. It was the 400th goal of Ovechkin's NHL career in his 634th game, making him the sixth-fastest in League history to reach the plateau. He has 29 goals in 33 games to lead the NHL this season. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=697071&navid=nhl:topheads
i love Ovi and the Caps, always have, always will. That being said, until the Caps actually hoist a cup, these points are rather meaningless to me.
the caps won´t win the cup without a good defensive core and a solid goalie. holtby is a good one but not consistently. so as a caps fan there is nothing exciting about the future. McPhee is one of the worst GM´s in the NHL imo. the best caps team during the OV/Bäckström era was the 08/09 season.
