The Green Bay Packers released return specialist Jeremy Ross, the team announced. Ross mishandled a return against the Cincinnati Bengals that led to a touchdown in the loss. He also had a fumble on a punt return during a playoff defeat to the San Francisco 49ers. A former undrafted free agent from Cal who has previous tenures with the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots, Ross has two punt returns for 20 yards and six kickoff returns for 75 yards this season. Ball security is the first order of business for a return man, and lack thereof is the quickest way to lose that kind of specialized job in the NFL. Source:National Football Post
Undrafted free agents on their third team don't get to be so sloppy with the ball. Them's the breaks kid.
