Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews said he expects to return to action Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles after missing the team's past four games with a broken right thumb. He practiced for the second straight day Thursday on a limited basis, wearing a club on his right hand. "Hopefully by the time Sunday rolls around it will be as if I'm playing with two hands, except one's clubbed up," he said Thursday, adding that he and the Packers will be smart with his rep count. Source: ESPN DaBears22's Take: Packers definitely need a shot in the arm with Rodgers going down. Matthews could provide that on defense.
Agree. The defense isn't the same when Clay isn't on the field and the defense will need to be on their game if they are going to win.
Damn, the defense might be all they have for the next couple of weeks. That offense went from high-flying to a grinding offense quick.
Hopefully the Eagles offense can confuse Matthews and the Packers defense early on to take a lead before they can adjust.
Crap, the Packers better be working on their conditioning. The Raiders were gassed early and got their asses handed to them. You need to be in shape to take this track meet on.
