Packers QB Aaron Rodgers Blasts Some NFC Pro Bowl Teammates

Aaron Rodgers isn’t happy with his teammates, no, he’s not upset with fellow players on the Green Bay Packers. He is disappointed with those who were with him on the NFC Pro Bowl team. The AFC triumphed 59-41 on Sunday in the all-star game in Hawaii and in a game that’s known for players taking it easy, Rodgers believes some guys took it too easy, way too easy. “I was just surprised that some of the guys either didn't want to play or when they were in there didn't put any effort into it,†Rodgers said in a visit with ESPN Milwaukee and Jason Wilde this afternoon. Rodgers went on to say he was “disappointed in the lack of pride†shown by some NFC players in the game. It’s a little surprising to hear a player speak out about the game like this, but Rodgers has a point and it’s a good one, fans were booing during portions of the game because of the lack of effort, if they’re going to put pads and helmets on and they’re going to play, then play football.

The Pro Bowl, is not really a game. The score doesn't matter... there isn't really any incentive for the players to show up.

 

They only go for the free trip to Hawaii.

Don't forget the $40K the winners get and the $20K the "losers" get...I guess Aaron needed the extra $20K...

It's nice to hear an actual top player still have some respect for the game. The ProBowl used to be played with the same casual effort as other sports' all-star affairs, but these guys gave almost zero effort and the game, in result, was unwatchable.

The NFL should cancel the game because it's an embarassment to the NFL.

Blasting teammates over a game thats more meaningless then any preseason game? REALLY? If you are going to take the pro bowl so seriously, then DON'T bother making the rip to Hawaii.

Was he a rod? Maybe a little bit, and this is nothing new but he's right. The game is a disgrace and seemed especially bad this year, I'd be pissed if guys on my team acted that way too. I mean the fact that pass rushers stand up still nearly every play like they're blocking a PAT is really hard to look past for me, they come off as freaking lazy. Not a huge Rogers fan but it's nice to see some players still approach this game with the fans in mind, too bad it's not worth a damn.

I like the Skills Competition much better than the game but I didn't even see that this year. Did they do it?

 

I remember seeing a headline that said it had more viewers than the MLB allstar game, and that crap is way more enjoyable IMO. IDK who all these people watching the Pro Bowl are, but I had a tough time believing that stat at first..

 

Seeing the way Jared Allen was playing did kind of piss me off.
