Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers is the MVP of the Super Bowl, an honor his Packers predecessor Brett Favre never earned. With precise passes and cool under pressure, Rodgers completed 24 of 39 passes for 304 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions Sunday night to lead the Packers to a 31-25 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers for Green Bay's first NFL title since Favre's in the 1997 Super Bowl. Rodgers is 27 years old, just as Favre was then. And after biding his time as a backup until the Packers split with Favre, Rodgers has quickly taken over. This was his third full season as a starting QB, and he was particularly good throughout the playoffs, leading the No. 6 seed Packers to a championship.

Yea, #4 never got the honor but his iron man play helped Rodgers develop into what he is today the old fashion way instead of today's throwing big money at them & then throwing them to the wolves too soon.

One cool customer. Just what us Bear fans wanted to see after finally getting rid of Favre after a million years...a better, more accurate, no risk taking version of himself. :icon_rolleyes:

This. Can't assume he'd be the great player he is today had he started on day 1 as a rookie. Rep.

Not get instantly thrown into the fire sure helps every Rookie, but I'm not going to honor Favre for it.

it is what it is. rodgers did sit for a few years. this what if game of rookies getting to sit or get thrown to the wolves is crazy. kurt warner didnt start day one for anybody but the barnstormers, no one hating on him. steve young? tom brady? same argument that i make that big ben has two titles becasue of defense..... give aaron rodgers teh credit he deserves yo.

superbowl mvp peeps..... rodgers could have been 30 for 40 for 400 and 4 tds if the wr's caught all the passes. he was awsome in the pocket agaisnt great pass rushers and a vetern deffense . not to mention the deffensive player of the year.... great qb proformance in a superbowl

I was responding more for the constant references linking #4 & Rodgers I keep reading in the media. Just unnecessary rhetoric as far as I'm concerned. No need for an honor ceremony for #4, Olly. :icon_cheesygrin:

Rodgers play stands by itself as does Favre's. Both SB winning QBs...end of story.

Really ought to read all the posts before you go off on these rambling rants when there's no one not giving Rodgers his props.

All this linking each other sucks. From what we heared over the last years, it seems if they didn't had a good realationship.....

But one of them was selected for MVP too :icon_mrgreen:

Great game by Rodgers...probably should've had more yards except for the butterfingers out there. Well deserved. Easy choice...

The Pack fans I work with always say they've never met a Bears fan that doesn't spew venom for the sake of doing it. They're probably being nice out of pity.

Most Bear fans I know tend to use the rivalry as an excuse to drink & act the fool. I'll nut up & admit you got our # & it doesn't look any rosier for the near future either.

Just a little more nice from me before going back to hating you guys...

The Pack were a blast from the past by playing thru injuries, playing thru the 6th seed, & putting on a Hell of a show all the way till the end. I enjoy great football & I got it.

    Now...

    Back to our regular programming:

    I hate you, Olly...
