Packers QB Coach Tom Clements Applies For The Head Coach Position At Penn State Packers quarterback coach Tom Clements has applied for the Penn State head coaching position and sent his resume to the six-member selection committee that is looking for a replacement for Joe Paterno. Clements has served as quarterbacks coach under head coach Mike McCarthy since 2006. He also served as quarterbacks coach with New Orleans (1997-99), Kansas City (2000) and Pittsburgh (2001-03). Clements was the offensive coordinator at Buffalo in 2004-05. Clements has received praise from Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is the favorite to win the NFL MVP award this season.
