Charles Woodson's illustrious tenure in Green Bay has come to an end, Tyler Dunne of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports. The Packers have decided to release the veteran safety, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports. Earlier in the day, the account for Woodson's wine company tweeted a good-bye. The news doesn't come as a complete surprise. Woodson turns 37 years old in October. And this season, Woodson was due a base salary of $6.5 million with a roster bonus of $2.5 million the first day of training camp. That's a lot of money to pay an aging player who isn't the same dynamic force at safety that he was at cornerback, or even the slot cornerback position. Source: The Redzone
going to miss seeing 21 out there but he had a hell of a football career Heisman trophy deffensive play of the year superbowl trophy
Gonna be tough for him to lose the packer's culture but he'll fit in nice elsewhere if he can take care of that collarbone.
I could see him landing in Mew England if Ed Reed doesn't. If the Patriots do score Ed Reed, there will be an opening in Baltimore... He shouldn't have a hard time finding a job.
