James Jones is sticking to his prediction. The Green Bay Packers wide receiver told Around The League's Dan Hanzus in February that his team could produce a trio of 1,000-yard receivers this coming season. Asked about it again this week, Jones didn't back down. "I do, I do," Jones told the Green Bay Press Gazette. "I've been on record as saying that I believe we have three 1,000-yard receivers in this room. I believe me, Randall (Cobb) and Jordy (Nelson), if we all stay healthy, we can all reach over 1,000." Aaron Rodgers makes all things possible, but this never has been done in team history. Granted, Cobb has emerged as one of the NFL's most dynamic playmakers and came within 50 yards of the 1,000-yard mark last season. Source: NFL.com
No doubt they could but the question is will the o-line hold up and give Rodgers time to find open recievers and will they have a running game that will open up the passing game. To me, its still a lot of ifs and those are some serious questions that the Packers will face going into this season.
I think that GB will run the ball a little to much this year for it to actually happen. Unless GB has gone to a full fledged Peyton-Colts, I don't see it happening.
If you remember the 2009 Packers were the first team in NFL history to have a 4,000+ yard passer, a 1,200+ yard rusher and two 1,000+ yard receivers. I look at the talent and see a much better offensive balance.
