The Panthers made their first step toward trimming the roster to 75 by the Tuesday deadline by cutting nine players on Saturday. QB Colby Cameron, P Jordan Gay, CB Nick Hixson, K Morgan Lineberry, WR Dale Moss, DE Louis Nzegwu, LB Ryan Rau, S Ricardo Silva and G Justin Wells were all waived Saturday. The Panthers waived/injured T Bruce Campbell (shoulder), FB Mike Zordich (knee) and WR Kealoha Pilares (knee). Campbell and Zordich were expected to be waived/injured, with Campbell undergoing surgery to repair a rotator cuff injury, and Zordich tore his ACL this preseason. Pilares injured his knee on the opening kickoff of Thursday's game, and coach Ron Rivera voiced concern for the injury later that night. Source: Charlotte Observer
