Panthers GM Marty Hurney discussed the team's 1-3 start, his job status, and was thrown many tough questions regarding the state of the team during an interview on ‘The Mac Attack’ radio show on 610 The Fan. With the option to go for it on 4 and 1 with a talented quarterback like Cam Newton, Hurney thought that it was the right choice to kick the ball based on the outcome of the 1 yardline kick in the Falcons endzone. “If they don’t score, it’s the right call. But when it doesn’t work…then you question the call.
