Part of the Carolina Panthers’ bruising running game, a big part of it, is based on the team’s outstanding offensive tackles. One of them went down today when right tackle Jeff Otah returned to Charlotte, N.C., from training camp in order to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. According to the Charlotte Observer, the team is hopeful that Otah will be able to recover in five weeks so he can participate in the season opener. Otah had the knee cleaned out and nothing was seriously wrong, but everyone reacts differently in recovery. A torn meniscus in the same knee cost Otah three games at the end of last season.
