Panthers quarterback Jimmy Clausen was replaced by fellow rookie Tony Pike in the game against New Orleans in the fourth quarter. Clausen had replaced Matt Moore, who earlier went down with a shoulder injury. The rookie proceeded to complete 8-of-18 passes for 47 yards and one interception. It would be a massive understatement to say that things are getting really ugly in Carolina.

It's pretty bad when the supposed future QB of the Panthers can't even hold down the job for a couple of quarters.

But is it pretty bad when you bench the supposed future QB of the panthers for the supposed future of QB of the panthers?

It is when the true QB of the future for the Panthers is Kerry Collins

.......and Ive been saying all along Clausen has no business playing as a rookie.

People seemed to think he was pro ready. He was far from it. Weis's pro spread hid the fact that he needs to learn to protect the ball. People thought I was high when I compared him to Cutler, because he only threw what, 4 INTs last year. Thats because Weis system makes it hard to throw alot of picks. He made alot of ill advised throws last year that we nothing more than incompletions

He can be a great QB, but he has a ways to go. Altho I really think he hecked himself coming out as a JR

Oddly as a Notre Dame fan Im rooting for Pike to beat out Claussen. If Pike becomes a solid pro, that helps us recruit QB's

  8. yeah Clausen was a hard guy to look at because of the system. I think he will be a good QB but it will take a few years.
