If Jimmy Clausen is cleared to practice this week he’ll start at quarterback Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, coach John Fox said after Sunday’s 37-13 loss to Baltimore. Clausen sat out Sunday’s game with a concussion and the Panthers went with Brian St. Pierre instead. St. Pierre finished 13 of 28 for 173 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. When asked if St. Pierre would start if Clausen is healthy, Fox replied, “We’ll see. I doubt that.†Fox then added: “Right now Jimmy, healthy, gives us the best opportunity. If he’s not healthy, we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.†Fox admitted the Panthers had to scale back the offense with St. Pierre running the show. “I thought we had some pretty good run ideas,†Fox said. “I think Mike Goodson ended up with close to or a little over 100 yards. Throw some quick passes. Have some big plays, which we did hit one out. You know kind of like what we’ve done with quarterbacks in the past, not paired down too much but not the full repertoire. I thought we got close to doing that until right there at the end.â€

I never want to see St. Pierre's butt in a Carolina jersey on a football field ever again!
