The Panthers had to make a cut to stay under the 53-man roster limit after signing veteran defensive tackle Hollis Thomas and are releasing rookie DT Ra'Shon "Sunny" Harris, who was picked up on waivers from the Pittsburgh Steelers after final preseason cuts were made. The Panthers opted to keep Antwon Burton, a three-year veteran playing with his fourth team, as their fourth DT instead of Harris. Burton had one tackle in a 21-7 loss to Dallas on Monday night.
