According to a league source, the Carolina Panthers have signed free agent kicker Justin Medlock, terms were not disclosed. A 2007 fifth-round pick out of UCLA by the Kansas City Chiefs, Medlock went 1-for-2 on field goal attempts in his NFL debut before he was released and replaced with veteran Dave Rayner. Medlock went training camp the following season with the St. Louis Rams and has had stints with the Washington Redskins and Detroit Lions. Medlock joins a crowded kickers meeting room in Carolina, who signed Olindo Mare to a four-year, $12 million contract after the lockout ended last summer and added Ani Kunalic on a three-year contract late in the season.
